IPX Rating

An IP rating is shorthand for an Ingress Protection mark. An IP rating is usually a two-digit grading system that is applied to the enclosure of a mechanical or electrical item, giving customers clear indication of the item’s resistance to various types of unwanted intrusion. The first number refers to the protection level of solid objects rated from 0-6. The second number refers to the protection of moisture protection, rated from 0-9. To learn more about IP ratings, visit the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) website.

Our Storm Waterproof Backpack has been tested with an IP rating of IPX4 which means anything inside the large roll-down pocket is protected against splashing water. So, in short, protects your phone, keys, wallet, etc from any sudden splashes! This backpack does not protect against submersion however.
